I’m partnering with SoundPrint, a hearing health app, to promote hearing health awareness this October. I don’t represent an organization. I’m just one person. But every person counts when it comes to citizen science.

Join us for SoundPrint’s Find Your Quiet Place Challenge!

During the month of October, 30, prominent hearing health organizations will participate in the 2022 FYQP Challenge to collect sound level data using the SoundPrint App.

Sound levels can be measured and submitted for different venues including restaurants, nightclubs, movie theatres, and gyms.

I have tinnitus, decreased sound tolerance or hyperacusis, and have problems understanding conversations in noisy places. If you’re like me, you might not go out much. But October is the time for everyone to measure and submit as many sound levels as possible for SoundPrint.

For me, SoundPrint makes it easier to find quiet places to eat or socialise on the rare times I do go out. Beyond helping individuals, the sound measurements from the Challenge will enable SoundPrint to advocate for safer noise levels, help communities find quieter places, and protect the public’s hearing health.

SoundPrint’s Find Your Quiet Place Challenge! is fun, easy, and prizes will be awarded! Be sure to join us!

Visit the FYQP webpage to download the app, register for the Challenge, get the details on prizes, and more.
