lost body
gnawing away my life
ear cacophony
murderous migraines
bleeding achilles heels
rusty joints pierce shards of glass
aching to stride care free
energy obliteration
wasted horizontally
zombie daze
abandoned lost
found
courage
battle on
bound braced together
no auxiliary parts
fool’s gold disguises compassion
accommodates barricades
fragmented
ever praying for acceptance
resurrection
hope found
Note from Jan: I’m not sure where this came from originally, but this is the definition of hope that I like:
“People speak of hope as if it is this delicate, ephemeral thing made of whispers and spider’s webs. It’s not. Hope has dirt on her face, blood on her knuckles, the grit of the cobblestones in her hair, and just spat out a tooth as she rises for another go.”
